Carmel, IN Audacious startup Synergize has partnered with Marlin Jackson’s Fight for Life Foundation. Their next 4:30 Meetup event will raise funds for the Indy-based nonprofit. The event, on December 8, will be their last 4:30 Meetup of the year.
“Marlin is literally helping kids break generational chains,” explained Synergize Founder Arron Stanton . “Kids who are being told their life doesn’t matter, Fight for Life Foundation is showing them that their life can impact the world.”
The Fight for Life Foundation (FFLF) was founded in 2007 by Marlin Jackson. Former cornerback for the Indianapolis Colts, Jackson had a lonely childhood and absent parents. His upbringing inspired him to start the charity.
Today, FFLF provides social-emotional learning (SEL) programs to over 7,500 youth. The charity partners with schools and summer programs. Through their Building Dreams curriculum, underserved youth learn self-management, social awareness, and responsible decision-making.
In schools that use the program, students’ standardized test scores increase by 11%. 75% of students see academic improvement, improved attendance, and fewer discipline referrals. 91% of students say the program influenced them to think about what they want to achieve in life.
“It makes us better people.” – Student in the FFLF Program.
FFLF also manages wellness workshops and other events. In 2016, they were recognized as the Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Community Health Champion. They were also named Indy’s Best and Brightest Education and Nonprofit in 2014.
“I’ve learned how to manage a business. I’ve learned what a winning mentality and what a culture of winning looks like with my days with the Colts and the University of Michigan,” said Jackson, reflecting on Football Championships.
“So for me, it became about getting the right people, having the right relationships.”

Synergize members understand the value of relationships. Their members share a commitment to build genuine friendships. They also share a desire to impact their community, which they do through their 4:30 Meetup events.
Upon joining, members are asked a series of questions about the legacy they want to leave in the world. Through authentic relationships, Synergize hopes to help them make it a reality.
“Now I do what I’m really meant to do in life,” Jackson said. “All the things that you’ve worked at, in life, they’ll all work together one day.”
About Synergize: Synergize creates relationships that spark impact. Its community of leaders, whose life goals focus on legacy instead of net worth, rally around a local cause at monthly 4:30 Meetup events. To join their movement, visit www.synergizeindy.com.
